COURSE STRUCTURE

Abacus Maths Tuition teaches a multi-level course combining both basic and advanced levels. The Smart Kid Abacus way is delivered in small classroom sizes where the children are assured the correct amount of attention, support and guidance.

Through the course design, they are also taught to use the instrument for addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. As they gain proficiency in the Soroban techniques, we guide them on visualisation wherein mental strength is used to replace the physical Soroban abacus device.

It is also a requirement that the classroom efforts of the children are reinforced at home by the parents by having the students practice daily for 20 minutes. All children are regularly assessed to allow the tutors to support their development and learning. Certificates of accomplishment are awarded to all successful children to recognise their efforts and achievement.

The 8 levels are summarised below:

TODDLER ABACUS (AGE GROUP OF UP TO 6 YEARS)

Toddler Abacus -Junior

This is 1 level(3 months) program. The children learn to represent 1 to 50 Numbers on the Soroban Abacus Instrument.

Toddler Abacus -Senior

This is 1level(3 months) program. The children learn to represent 1 to 100 Numbers on the Soroban Abacus Instrument and also they learn Single/Double Digit Addition and Subtraction (Without Formulas) on the Soroban Abacus Instrument.

RUNNERS (AGE GROUP 6 - 10 YEARS)

This is a 5 level programme where the levels will be of either 3 or 4 Months duration depending upon the Syllabus to be covered. The total duration is of 17 Months for the full programme.

SPRINTERS (AGE GROUP 11 - 14 YEARS)

This is a 4 level programme where the levels will be of either 3 or 4 Months depending upon the Syllabus to be covered. The total duration is of 13 Months for the full programme.

ADVANCE LEVEL

This is 2 Level Program. Each level is of 4 months. Students after completing Runners or Sprinters Program are qualified to attend Advance Program.

GRAND LEVEL

This is a 2 level programme. Each level is of 4 months. Students after completing Advance Program are qualified to attend the Smart Kids Abacus International Grand Program.
